One of my favorite Bach preludes, this piece has an elegant sense of yearning that I just love. Its noble expressiveness and at times romantic-sounding harmonic language cause me to imagine how much Bach would have enjoyed playing on a modern day piano, with its large dynamic range, variety of tonal colors, and ability to sustain notes.
